Ian Grant managed Britannica’s business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa from 2006 to 2013, through its transition from print/CD to digital online and mobile publishing. During this period the company’s positive cash flow and profitability increased. He grew profitable revenues from core online educational services at a 23% compound annual growth rate over five years.

Ian contributed to strategy at global group level; re-structured the EMEA staff into market-orientated teams; introduced CPD and structured appraisal into staff and team development; introduced market and product management accounting; rebuilt the UK sales team to respond to transformation of educational markets through technology and curriculum change. A member of the global executive group that developed the strategy for change, Ian Grant provided advice on brand positioning, marketing campaigns, educational curricular change and cultural understanding in the different markets across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
